IOM Winter Fleet Series Day 5 Results

Sunday December 3 we staged  the final day of the IOM Winter Series Fleet Racing. For a change the weather was kind, with a ‘B’ rig northerly, semi cloudy and very muggy. And what a fleet –9 boats!!!  Its been a long time since I have seen such a size fleet, on a club day. Great to see Mike on form again  as well as John and Ed, and by the way Ed won the series, congratulations Ed.  One of our new members suffered a major disappointment, it would have been either his first or second time out with his boat and he found that his transmitter didn’t want to transmit—it appeared to locked itself in part of the menu?? The racing went very well with the clubs top 3 competitors showing their ability very early on, followed very closely by Russell, Darrell, Peter and Rod. The racing behavior was excellent, with very few penalties awarded. It shows that our tuition is proving to be of good quality. Although the heat was oppressive it was great to sail again in a large fleet.
