IOM Regatta Winter Trophy – Results
Today we ran the Winter Regatta for the IOM Fleet and what great racing we witnessed, the points do not portray how closely matched all the boats where. We had visit from Laurie Green and he showed that despite his lack of practice, he has not lost his ability to be a very capable competitor.
The weather was great, the wind did its normal thing. When I arrived at the marina at 12.40, the course was like a mill pond, by the end of the third race we all decided to swap the ‘A’ rig for the ‘B’, the sun, later in the event, did cause some problems. Tim Hill unfortunately had to retire at the change over, because of a lack of ‘B’ rig.
Over all, a great afternoon’s racing, results as follows:
- First: John McPherson 8 points
- Second: Laurie Green 17 points
- Third: Ed Schmidt 20 points
- Fourth: Darrell Blewett 21 points
- Fifth: Tim Hill 35 points
Congratulations John on a well deserved win. A trophy will be presented to you at the Annual Prize giving.
Someone left a boat cradle behind at the marina, please contact Darrell Blewett if it is yours.
