Winter Series IOM Fleet Racing – Day 1 results
‘The event scheduled for Sunday July 9 was Day 1 of the Winter Series IOM Fleet Racing. And what a day it was–it was a very stiff southerly, but not bad enough for the ‘C’ rig, the ‘B’ rig handled the gusts quite well. David pulled out after race 1, the wind was a bit too much for him and during the 3rd race, both Ed and Darrell pulled out, Ed with Winch Pulley problems and Darrell with a snapped Main Luff wire? So that left 3 contenders to continue. But the rain arrived, and we collectively decided to call the rest of the racing off!!!!
It was great to see both Rod and Peter competing with the wind, and it was really great to have Russell back on the water, and congratulations to him on his win.’
