IOM Winter Regatta

The event held Sunday 16 July at the Seaview Marina was the IOM Winter Regatta. Six skippers arrived on site, to be greeted with a light, cold, northerly breeze with overcast skies.  We started the sailing quite late, due to a visit by a potential ‘new member’.  John spent time with him and the rest of us obliged, by delaying the racing, so John could join us.
The northerly breeze was very ‘omni directional’ and did cause some discomfort with some of the skippers. Rod had to pull out with some sort of difficulty and Darrell also had problems and consequently did not perform as per usual.
It was great to have Mike join us.  John, Ed and Mike performed very well, between them taking the first 3 places –well done. Peter did surprisingly well, he is showing great potential, keep  it up Peter.
The promised rain arrived during the race 5 so collectively decided that enough was enough.
