All Class Handicap Winter Series 2017 Day 2

‘The event staged Sunday September 17 was Day 2 of the Winter Series  All Class Handicap, and it was held at Lake Whitby. 5 Boats arrived on site and were greeted with strong northerly, 2 skippers elected to make use of the ‘C’ rigs  while the rest used the ‘B’ rig. Some of the gusts where definitely in the range of the ‘C’ rig. but we battled on. The racing was quite close overall, but very hard work.
We all found the gusts quite difficult to handle, but it was good experience for the ‘newbies’.    It was good to see Brian back on the water.
One lesson we all learnt today was—-in heavy winds, it pays to keep a good gap between all other boats.  There were a few collisions today (minor), that could have been avoided if this rule was adhered to’
