IOM Summer Series Fleet Racing – Day 6 Results
June 24 we held Day 6 (Final) of the Summer series IOM Fleet Racing. It was not a pleasant day at all, cold and strong northerly, with a touch of rain. 6 hardy skippers turned up at Whitby Lake, but only 5 decided to race (Darrell’s xmitter decided that it didn’t like the conditions, so went on strike). B rig was the obvious choice for the day, and it was tough going for all. Mark was a keen starter but found the conditions a bit overwhelming, but pressed on and achieved a satisfactory result. Rod has yet to get to grips with these type of conditions , but performed well considering.John and Bruce ,what can I say, John won the day but Bruce wasn’t far behind him. Ed had to pull out early on, taking on water I believe.John won the series with Bruce very close behind. Congratulations to you both.
