Day 4 Winter Series IOM Fleet Racing

Sunday November 4 we held Day 4 of the Winter Series IOM Fleet Racing. Nobody in their right mind, would have expected the weather to clear after the conditions on Saturday. But it did, we ended up with clear skies, with a real blustery northerly. There were a few instances when there were white caps on the Whitby Lake!  Some of us elected for the ‘B’ rig, and after a few breakages decided to re -rig to the ‘C’ rig. But they soon found that the calm spells where a ‘no go’. So time was spent carrying out repairs to broken rigs. The racing proved again, that a well setup V5 will keep pace with the later versions. John won the day with Ed coming a second and Darrell coming  up a close third. It was such a good day we had 2 additional races and finished quite a bit later than normal.
