IOM Winter Series Fleet Racing – Final Day

Sunday December 2 was the final day of the IOM Winter Series Fleet Racing. The conditions, to start with, were great for the ‘A’ Rig,  nice steady, southerly breeze, with some real black clouds to the north. The start of the first race, saw heavy  rain. Some of the ‘not so brave ‘ decided to wait it out and see what happens, the other pressed on and raced. By the time the third race came up, it cleared and so did that nice breeze. Some races started to the south, and some to the north–quite frustrating to say the least. Still some of the ‘better’ skippers’ mastered the variations very well. Great to see Dave come third over all, well done Dave. Wayne showed some improvements but still has to master sailing with a group–it is a bit scary to start with–but keep with it. Once again the results show that the V5’s ‘can’ foot it with the V8’s under good ‘skipper-ship’!!!’
