All Class Handicap Autumn Series Day 2 @ Seaview
“A beautiful bottom to middle of A-rig breeze. Steady conditions and good for checking boat speed.
We did a modified handicap system where
– the winning boat from this race had to do a penalty on the first leg of the next race
– and the last placed boat started 10 seconds ahead in the next race
Unfortunately, we didn’t quite get it right. The aim was to increase penalties/time advantage to bring the boats together more, but it didn’t happen.
The reason for doing penalties as a handicap was to get more boats starting at the same time, so we could practice starts better. I think that aspect worked.”
